Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA) is a new course in the context of Tribhuvan University but the course is being run by different other universities for more than a decade. Tribhuvan University has recently come up with this new program under the faculty of Humanities and Social Science. This program has been proposed under the affiliation of Tribhuvan University from the new academic year of 2071/72 BS. As of today, there are only two batches running. It is a 4 years (8 semesters) degree. Tribhuvan University ran the first batch of the program for the first time in the year 2073/74, then the affiliation was given to only a few constitution campuses of the University. The next academic year (2075/76) onwards the affiliation of the course, with the limited seat of 35, was provided to many private colleges as well.

As the name says, the program is much related to the application of the computer for problem-solving. It is focused on software.
